In a recent interview with The Montreal Gazette, Robert Pattinson spoke a bit about Bel Ami and we learned a few new details.
Currently, he’s enjoying his against-type performance in Bel Ami, an R-rated drama with a racy sex sequence, due in theatres next year.
“I think there’s a kind of irony in Bel Ami, because a lot of the women are attracted to my character,” Pattinson says, smiling ever so slightly, “and then he kind of screws them over and steals their money, which I think is quite funny compared to my Twilight character.”

In seeing the script, I didn’t think it could be anything but an R rating. I love that Rob is breaking away and trying different roles. Bel Ami will definitely be THAT role!! Its going to be interesting to see Rob in this type of role- away from “Edward Cullen”- which I adore those films and his upcoming romantic-drama “Remember Me” which I believe could possibly be an Oscar nomination…just saying because people that have seen the premiere and loved it! But this movie is going to be HOT,Hot, Hot….thud!!
YES, Finally a RP film for adults! and hopefully wont be watered down one bit to cater to the tweens! That could be because this is NOT a Summit film.

Yay! Finally an R-rated Rob movie!!I’m ecstatic about this because he’ll be breaking away from the Edward Cullen mold. Don’t get me wrong, I love him playing Edward, but in order to show us that he’s got ‘the chops’ for acting, Rob’s gotta do these types of roles such as Tyler in Remember Me and Georges DuRoy in BelAmi. I think he’s going to shock us all with 2 riveting performances in these 2 films! And all I can say is, “You go, Rob…you deserve it,baby!!”

I think Rob chose this movie because it’s the total opposite of Twilight’s Edward, he just needs to diconnect from him and show his acting talents.
I laughed today as I imagined Rob and his co-stars in this movie like the 2 cute porn actors from Love actually where they had steamy scenes each day, totally naked and then were so shy dating in real life LOL. I don’t know why but it seemed funny as Rob is kind of shy and he plays this macho who screws up women left and right…
